Glossary
A plain-language definition of Glidelock — what it is and why it matters on a Rolex.
Introduced on the Deepsea and Sea-Dweller and later fitted to the Submariner, the Glidelock system uses a sliding mechanism under the clasp cover with toothed positions. You lift, slide, and click to resize — useful both for a dive over a wetsuit and for everyday comfort as a wrist changes size through the day.
It complements the Oysterlock safety clasp (which prevents accidental opening) and, on deep-divers, the spring-loaded Fliplock extension for thick suits.

Glidelock FAQ
Glidelock is a toolless extension system in the clasp of Rolex dive watches. It resizes the bracelet in roughly 2 mm steps, up to about 20 mm, to fit over a wetsuit or a changing wrist.
It appears on dive models — the Submariner, Sea-Dweller, and Deepsea — as part of their Oysterlock clasps.
